The Lohian Khas police have arrested a man in a dowry harassment case.
Investigating Officer (IO) Kashmir Singh said that the accused have been identified as Kuljit Singh son of Darshan Singh a resident of Kotla Bhago village under Nakodar Sadar police station
Kamaljit Kaur wife of Kuljit Singh a resident of Kotla Bhagu village and now living at Nahal village under Lohian Khas police station had filed a complaint in November 2022 to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar (SSP) (rural), that her husband and other members of in-law’s family was harassing her and demanding more and more dowry since her marriage.
IO said a case under section 406(breach of trust) and 498-A (husband or relative of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against the accused after an inquiry.
