The Bilga police have booked a villager for illegal mining.
Investigating officer (IO) Buta Ram said that the accused has been identified as Sadhu son of Ranjit a resident of Talwann village.
Junior Engineer and Mining Inspector Jalandhar Jaswinder Singh complained to the police that the accused had allowed the excavation of earth from his fields more than the permitted limit.
IO said that a case under section 21 of the Punjab Mining and Mineral Rules has been registered against the accused.
