Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Friday nabbed a registry clerk(RC) Parshant Joshi posted at Nakodar Tehsil Office for taking a bribe of Rs 7000 for help in the issuance of an income certificate to a resident.
VB SSP office Ludhiana said in a press note that Rannvir Singh a resident of Seham village had filed a complaint on Anti-Corruption Action Line that he needed an income certificate and approached the registry clerk who demanded Rs 7000 for helping in the issuance of an income certificate and paid Rs 1000 in advance.
The press note said that after a preliminary investigation of the complaint, a VB team today arrested the accused RC Parshant Joshi red-handed for accepting a bribe of Rs 6000, and an FIR under section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at police station VB, Ludhiana Range.
