The Nakodar Sadar police have booked two unidentified miscreants on the charge of snatching Rs 183500 cash and a mobile handset from a Jalandhar resident.
Ramanjoti son of Balkar Singh a resident of Arya Nagar, Gulab Devi Road Jalandhar complained to the police that he was returning home after completing his job, and when he reached Landhar village Adda two motorcycle-borne unidentified miscreants attacked him with weapons on July 6 and snatched his kit bag and his purse containing Rs 18350 and mobile handset.
Investigating Officer Som Nath said that a case under 379-B (snatching) of the IPC has been registered against the unidentified accused.
Incidents of snatching and looting are increasing day by day in rural as well as urban areas due to the lack of regular police patrolling. These incidents have created a sense of insecurity and fear among residents.
