The Lohian Khas police have booked a mother-son duo in a dowry harassment case.
Investigating Officer (IO) Kashmir Singh said that the accused have been identified as Gurpreet Kaur wife of Darshan Singh a resident of Kotla Bhago village under Nakodar Sadar police station and her son Kuljit Singh
Kamaljit Kaur wife of Kuljit Singh a resident of Kotla Bhagu village and now living at Nahal village under Lohian Khas police station had filed a complaint in November 2022 to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar (SSP) (rural), that her in-law was harassing her and demanding more and more dowry since her marriage.
IO said a case under section 406(breach of trust) and 498-A (husband or relative of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused after an inquiry. No arrests have been made.
