FARIDABAD: Professionally, a qualified and trained Nutritionist cum Dietitian from Lady Irwin college, Dr. Saloni Chawla completed her Masters in Nutrition with specialization and Institutional Management and Dietetics and Internship at All India Institute of Medical Sciences. She did extensive work in the area of Research, Health education and Stress management in college and in jobs in NCERT, AIIMS and NIOS. She presented papers in the area of Health education in International conferences and her articles got published in leading newspapers including Hindustan Times.
Writing was her Passion since the age of 10 years. Her poetry got recognition in school, college and job and it got published in various magazines. Her 1st poem to be published in Hindustan Times was a Self composed poem on 9/11 attack on America followed by various articles which got published in Hindustan Times. She writes poetry in English and in Hindi - Poetry, Shayari, Ghazals and Songs. Her every composition sends a message for the benefit of mankind. And her English poetry is mainly on health education : physical, mental, behavioural, social, emotional, environmental and spiritual health, and world peace. She has also learnt Classical music and composes her own tunes.
She started 2 YouTube channels for her English poetry and Hindi Poetry, Shayari, Ghazals and Songs. Her English channel is named Echoes of Silence Saloni Chawla and Hindi channel is named Khamoshi Ki Goonj Saloni Chawla. Her poems have been published in more than 15 newspapers and newsportals. She has co authored at least 20 anthologies which have been published. Her programs on Nutrition, Health and Poetry have been broadcasted on 4 Radio stations namely Radio Booze, Radio Manav Rachna 107.8 FM, Radio Maharani, Radio NGF 90.4 FM and have also been broadcasted on 2 News channels namely Kinnaur Ab Tak and Pehchan Faridabad. She has also participated in a number of poetry competitions and given live Shows on YouTube and Facebook and won a number of awards.
She has published 4 books -
1st - "खामोशी की गूंज" (मेरी हिंदी कविताएं), 2nd - "बंद होठों की जुबान" (मेरी शायरी और गज़लें), 3rd - "धरती से अंबर तक" (मेरे अपने गीत) and 4th - Echoes of Silence (my English poetry, articles and my pencil sketches)
Considering her extensive work in the area of Health education including her English channel and English poetry book on health, the World Peace Institute of United Nations awarded her Honorary Doctorate in Health Education in March 2023. And owing to her work in the area of Poetry for World Peace and her poem on 9/11 attack on America which was published in Hindustan times in October 2001, she has been awarded the International Peace Ambassador award by the World Human Rights Protection Commission in June 2023.
