DC Faridkot Vineet Kumar on Tuesday held a review meeting of the district officials to get detailed information about the Independence day preparations.
The DC also passed the directions to the police and civil administration to ensure the perfect arrangements on the occasion.
"Like every year, the Independence day is going to be observed at Nehru Stadium Faridkot on August 15 to refresh the memories of its importance and remembering the sacrifices of our great freedom fighters.The nation will be paying floral tributes to our great freedom fighters on that day," the DC said in a press note today.
He said that a team of BSF,Punjab police and NCC cadets would give an elegant march past and salute the national flag. Besides it, the school children would present a colorful cultural programme with main themes patriotism in their presentations.
The people with important contributions to various fields would also be honored on that day,' the DC said.
He instructed the police and civil officers that they must ensure that all the functions go smoothly and there should be no problem of parking etc.
"Anyone fining negligent of his duty will be punished," the DC said.
