The Shahkot police have arrested a villager on the charge of raping a minor girl, cheating and criminal conspiracy.
Station House Officer (SHO) Amanpreet Kaur said that the accused has been identified as Amninder Singhs son of Sukhdev Raj a resident of Bhadma village.
The victim complained to the police that the accused established a physical relationship with her on the pretext of marriage and continued the relationship for six months and she became pregnant.
The victim said in her complaint that the accused and his two accomplices administered her medicine for abortion which killed her child.
SHO said that a case under sections 376(rape) 315( act done with intent to prevent a child being born alive),316 ( causing the death of a quick unborn child by act amounting to culpable homicide),420(cheating), and 120-B(criminal conspiracy of the IPC and sections 4 and 6 of the POCSO Act have been registered against the accused and his two accomplices identified as Salim a resident of Bhadma village and Pawan a resident of Sanda village who are absconding and raids are being conducted to nab them.
