BKU Sidhupur-Ekta demands to curb the drug menace, compensation to the flood affected  farmers


We shall stand by the Mansa activist who is dedicated to stopping drug smuggling in the area.

Bharti Kisan union Sidhupur –Ekta on Wednesday submitted a charter of demands to the deputy commissioner Faridkot.

ADC Faridkot received the charter of demands from the union on behalf of the deputy commissioner Faridkot.

Lashing out at the Bhagwant Singh Mann on the issue of the prevalence of drugs, Bohar Singh Rupian Wala, district president of the union said that Bhagwant Mann has backtracted all his promises.

“When Bhagwant Singh Mann was in the opposition, he always said that if the AAP government came to power, it would rein in the drug smugglers. But after coming to power, he has shut his eyes. Instead of registering cases against the drug smugglers, his government has implicated Parwinder Singh alias Jhota of Mansa in false cases,” alleged Bohar Singh Rupian Wala in a press note to the media.

He further said that Samuhik Kisan Morcha, a non-political outfit, has decided to extend its support to the Mansa activists and this movement against the drugs would be taken to all villages in the state.

He said that Bharti Kisan Union , a part of the SKM non political had held a virtual meeting last night and decided in prinicial to support the activists running campaign against the drug smugglers.

He further alleged that now Bhagwant Mann has shut his eyes to the alleged factories manufacturing synthetic drugs while out of the government, he would say that all such factories would shut if his government comes to power.

He blamed the ruling parties then, but after coming to power, he shows indifferent attitude to drug smuggling.

Apart from it, he said that BKU Sidhupur Ekta demands compensation for all the flood affected farmers.

“There is devastation of crops and many animals have been killed in the flood affected areas. We demand suitable compensation for the flood affected farmers across the state. Our party has submitted a charter of our demands to the deputy commissioners of all districts of Punjab,’ said Bohar Singh Rupian Wala.

He was accompanied by Gurditta Singh, finance secretary of the union,Sukhcharn Singh Golewala, block president of Golewala,Charanjeet Singh block president of Faridkot,Baljinder Singh Wara Bhai Ka, block president of Bajakhana, Chinderpal Singh block president to Jaitu and Sukhmander Singh block president of Kotkapura and Inderjeet Singh Ghania, general secretary of the union.
