The Mehat Pur police have booked seven villagers including a woman on the charge of assaulting a woman and snatching her phone.
Investigating officer (IO)Balwinder Singh said that the accused have been identified as Manpreet Singh a resident of Udho Wal village ,his wife Palwnder Kaur sons Kamalpreet Singh and Gurmit Singh and Malkit Singh,Narider Singh and Hanni also resident of Udho Wal village
Manjit Kaur wife of Harwinder Singh a resident of the same village complained that the accused assaulted and threatened her and snatched her mobile phone.
IO said a case under sections 323, (voluntarily causing hurt) 506(criminal intimidation) 379(theft) and 149(every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
