The Shahkot police have arrested three local residents on the charge of attacking a police officer.
Investigating Officer(IO) Balbir Chand said that the accused have been identified as Karan son of Roshan,Sandip alias Katta son of Satpal and Soni son of Sokha residents of Mohalla Bagh Wala ,Shahkot
IO said that Assistant sub-inspector Sukhwinder Singh said in his statement that he was performing his duty at a Naka and signaled the accused to stop who were riding a motor cocycle (PB08-CQ-2717) but instead of stopping at Naka the accused assaulted him and tore his uniform and fled away.
IO said a case under sections 353(assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty.),186(oobstructing public servant in discharge of public functions), and 34(committing crime with common intention) of the IPC has been registered against the accused
