The city police Kotkapura has booked a ward attendant Jaskaran Singh under section 323 (deals with punishment for voluntarily causing hurt )and 341 (Punishment for wrongful restraintof ) of IPC on the complaint of Pavneet Chawla,a resident of Arvind Nagar Kotkapura.
“My wife went into the ICU to breastfeed her newborn baby and sat there . The ward attendant misbehaved with us and when we objected to it, he started thrashing me. When I left the hospital in my father’s car to the local civil hospital to get treatment, he chased me and again started thrashing me and my father,” the complainant has stated to the police.
The police have registered a case against Jaskaran singh on July 12.
The complainant has stated that his new born baby boy was admitted to a local child healthcare hospital on July 9 when the incident took place.
“It is very unfortunate that such an incident occurred inside a hospital where people go to get treatment and expect sympathetic treatment to them.But instead of it, the attendant rather misbehaved with us and thrashed my son,” said Prem Chawla, state leader of teachers’ union.
He demanded the arrest of the accused in the case.
