DC Faridkot reviewed arrangements in advance of emergency situations

DC Faridkot Vineet Kumar today issued orders to the higher administrative officers to take under their control all those things which may be required in emergency situations during floods to avoid any untoward situation.

 These items mainly consisted of 5 boats including  life jackets, long bamboos, wooden planks, search lights, torches and umbrellas and all other such items ordered them to be fully equipped with.

 The DC said that whatever material is required to control the flood like situation, it should be made available immediately through his office without any delay.

He said that there are 25 life jackets, 97 bamboos, 30 pipes, 17 plastic tarpaulins, 36 tents, 30 tarpaulins, 05 fiber boats, 03 wooden boats etc are already available in the district.

“In view of the circumstances, if other items  are required, they will be made available,” the DC said.

 

He issued orders to the officials to be in constant touch with the people.

“The special attention should be given to low-lying areas and areas near the canals,” he said.

 He further said that keeping in mind the flood situation in the district, the flood control room is operational 24 hours a day, whose number is 01639-250338.

“Apart from this, mobile numbers 96464-80016 and 90413-55996 can be whatapped with photos and complaints of water level rise at any time,” said Vineet Kumar.

 

The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the people not to panic but to cooperate with the administration.

 He said that Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Kultar Singh Sandhawan, MLA Faridkot Gurdit Singh Sekhon and he himself visited the affected areas and issued orders to the officials from time to time in view of the situation.

 He further said that the administration is fully alert to the situation and any untoward incident will not be allowed to happen.
