Deputy commissioner Faridkot Vineet Kumar has said that the cleaning of the drains was almost complete and a little work which remains on two drains will be completed in one two days.
He termed the delay in cleaning of the drains to the tendering.”The proper rates were not available so the tendering for this work was done twice or thrice.But now all the work is complete,” he said.
Hee further added that the rains happened early and so there was some problem.
About the loss to the crop, he said that the assessment would be made after the water dried.
The DC also said that in case of the damage/loss to the houses, he has already instructed the revenue officials to record and report it.
“I have also directed the department of animal husbandry to record the loss of any animal/death of animal and I hope the situation turns better soon,” said Vineet Kumar,IAS DC Faridkot.
The district administration is fully prepared to handle any problem, he said.
