SSP Faridkot Harjeet Singh told the media persons here on Tuesday that the district police have seized about 1 kg of heroin in separate cases in some days.
“The DSP Kotkpaura Shamsher Singh Shergill and his team of the CIA trapped two main accused,Robin and Anil,based at Chautala, Haryana, from near BajaKhana who often used to smuggle heroin to the Dabwali area.They frequently went to a supplier in Tarn Taran and sold the drug to addicted in the Dabwali area.The police have also nominated the supplier based in tarn Taran checking their backwards links,” said the SSP.
The police have recovered 400 grams of heroin from their possession and three accused have been booked under NDPS act.
The Kotkapura police have also arrested a couple Seema and Mangu and recovered 265 grams heroin from their possession.
Besides it, the district police seized 100 grams of heroin from a village Sarpanch.
“We have been targeting the smugglers by conducting raids in Mohallas and , in three-four months, have arrested many accused in the drug smuggling cases. Besides it, the district police have recovered about 1 kg heroin in separate cases so far,” said Harjeet Singh,SSP Faridkot.
