The Nakodar Sadar police have booked a villager on the charge of assaulting a woman and stealing cash and a mobile phone.
Investigating officer (IO) Janak Raj said that the accused has been identified as Sukha son of Ashok Kumar a resident of Dhadda Hari Pur village.
Amarik Kaur a resident of the same village complained to the police that the accused barged into her house armed with a weapon and attacked and injured her on June 27 and stole Rs 20,000 and a mobile phone from her house.
IO said that a case under sections 451(house trespass), 323(voluntarily causing hurt) and 380(theft in dwelling house) of the IPC has been registered against the accused,
