NAKODAR
A breach in the Phillaur distributary of the Bist Doad canal system near Hari Pur-Bath villages on Thursday inundated a hundred acres of fields where paddy had been planted. Overflow of water has caused the breach said an aggrieved farmer.
The breach was near a bridge. Farmers immediately started making efforts to plug the breach and arranged machines to get the work done at the earliest. Nakodar SDM Kamaljit Singh along with other officials reached the spot.
