Aiming at the approaching 2024 parliamentary elections, the BJP has appointed Sunil Jakhar, the state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party Punjab.
Jakhar had joined the BJP in May last year resigning from his mother party, the congress.
The former MP had alleged before the 2022 Vidhan Sabha elections that he deserved to be the probable chief ministerial face, but was ignored being a Hidnu face.
Jakhar,with a clean image, can help BJP gain some momentum by polarising the particular section of voters around the BJP.
Jakhar has replaced Ashwani Sharma.
