Coming close on heels of its statements, AAP government has issued notice of recovery of about Rs 55 lakh fees of the senior advocate Dushyant Dave, hired to contest the court cases of Mukhtar Ansari, a dreaded criminal, to former Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh and then minister for jails Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa.

The Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann on Sunday had hit out at the both for approving the fees of the senior advocate to facilitate the dreaded criminal from UP Mukhtar Ansari in Punjab jails.

Ansari was brought to Punjab on production warrants in a case registered against him for an extortion call to a businessman and later on was not given to the UP government despite many requests.

“As prescribed by the chief secretary in his note, the engaging of Sh Dushyant Dave, senior advocate for defending the case of Mukhtar Ansari was not required as no case of public interest or the state of Punjab was involved in that case. So the public money of the state of Punjab can not be utilized for meeting out such expenditure,” reads the notice signed by the chief minister Punjab.

“So expenditure incurred may be recovered equally both from Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, former jail minister and and captain Amarinder Singh, chief minister Punjab as they had proposed and approved respectively to engage Sh Dushyant Dave as an advocate for this case,” the notice reads on page no 107.

AAP spokesman Malvinder Singh Kang has also held a press conference this regard.
