HE CHETAK CORPS ON FRIDAY CELEBRATED ITS 45TH RAISING DAY AT BATHINDA MILITARY STATION

 

 

Bathinda, 1 July : The Chetak Corps on Friday celebrated its 45th Raising Day at Bathinda Military Station. The Chetak Corps was raised in Bathinda on 1st July 1979, under the command of Lieutenant General ML Tuli. Since its raising, the Chetak Corps has gone through a series of transformations to reach its present state as a highly professional and operationally effective formation.

        As the Indian Army readies itself to overcome the latest global and regional security challenges in the changing paradigm of warfare, Chetak Corps remains steadfast and focused on enhancing its operational readiness through astute professionalism, sheer hard work and dedication. On this occasion,Lieutenant General BS Raju, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, South Western Command conveyed his best wishes to all ranks of Chetak Corps and asked them to continue and perform their duties with utmost dedication and to uphold the highest traditions of the Indian Army. Lieutenant General Sanjiv Rai, General officer Commanding Chetak Corps urged all ranks to remain operationally ready to take on future assignments with selfless resolve and courage. He also acknowledged the role of the ex-servicemen and their families and thanked them for their invaluable contribution.

        To commemorate the occasion, Major General Mandip Singh Gill, Chief of Staff, Chetak Corps, along with officers, JCOS & OR laid a wreath at the War Memorial ‘Yodha Yaadgar’ in a solemn ceremony, in revered remembrance of the fallen bravehearts, who laid down their lives in the various battles fought in this sector while ensuring the safety and security of our great Nation.
