The Nakodar City police have arrested three women on the charge of snatching a woman’s gold chain.
Station House Officer (SHO) Baljit Singh said that the accused have been identified as Satya alias Surjito wife of Kala, Goma alias Gomo wife of Balkar Singh alias Kaka residents of Langlorri village in Patiala, and Tej Kaur alias Garejo wife of Charan Singh a resident of Kherri Gillan village in Patiala.
Shanti Devi wife of Manohar Lal a resident of ward no.8 Akhnoor , Jammu complained to the police that She along with her family came to Dera Baba Murad Shah on June 29 and were waiting in a queue to pay their obeisance and there was a rush of devotees when the accused surrounded her and snatched her gold chain, but she struggled to take back her chain and raised an alarm.
She said the devotees and Sevadars overpowered the accused and detained them and handed them over to the police.
SHO said that a case under sections 379-B (snatching), and 511 (attempting to commit offenses punishable with imprisonment for life) has been registered against the accused.
