The Lohian Khas police have arrested a villager on the charge of attempt to murder, criminal intimidation, and rioting.
The investigating officer (IO) Kashmir Singh said that the accused have been identified as Hardeep Singh alias Depa son of Gurcharan Singh a resident of Kakarr Kalan village.
IO said a case under sections 307(attempt to murder) and 324(voluntarily causing hurt with weapons), 506(criminal intimidation)341(wrongful restraint), and 148 and 149(rioting) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused and others.
