The Nurmahal police have booked a building contractor on charges of breach of trust and cheating.
Station House Officer (SHO) Sukhdev Singh said that the accused has been identified as Satnam Singh son of Pakhar a resident of Maheru village under Mehat Pur police station.
Amarjit Mannak a resident of Fateh Pur village complained to the police that he gave a contract to build his house to the accused who is his very close relative and paid him Rs 41 lakhs,50,000 as advance money.
He said in his complaint that the accused used substandard materials and lanter of the house snooped. Amarjit said he asked the accused to stop construction work and called an architect who estimated that Rs 22lakh had been spent on construction.
Amarjit said that he asked the accused to return the remaining unspent amount, but he did not respond and thus duped him of Rs 13 lakhs,77,750 and legal action should be taken against the accused.
SHO said that a case under section 406(breach of trust) and 420(cheating) of the IPC has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
