The Nurmahal police have arrested two accused on the charge of snatching maize loaded truck.
Station House Officer (SHO) Sukhdev Singh said that the accused has been identified as Puran Singh son of Amarjit Singh a resident of Parjian Bihari Pur village under Sidhwan Bet police station Ludhiana and Jaspreet Singh alias Jashan son of Baljit Singh a resident of Basti Baba Garib Shah Sidhwan Bet.
Gurdev Singh a resident of Puniyan village under Shahkot police station complained to the police that the accused traveling in a Bolero jeep waylaid his truck loaded with 380 bags (190 quintals) of maize near truck Union Shahkot and threatened him and his assistant with dire consequences at point of sharp-edged weapons and snatched truck and fled toward Malsian and chased the accused and reached Nurmahal police station.
He said in his complaint that these are the same notorious thieves who have stolen maize bags from cold stores near Lohian Khas and have gone to Kot Badal Khan village and action be taken against them.
SHO said a case under sections 379-B(snatching ) 341(wrongful restraint) and 34(committing a crime with common intention ) of the IPC and recovered snatched truck (PB-10-X-9347) loaded with maize bags and a jeep(PB-10-ES-5434) used for committing the crime has been impounded adding that third nominated accused Tari son of Toni a resident of Basti Baba Garib Shah Sidhwan Bet is absconding.
The Nakodar Sadar police also booked both accused on the charge of stealing iron items from a vehicle of Tilak Raj of Chak Miuglanni village said IO and Shankar police post-in-charge Lovleen Singh.
