The Criminal Investigating Agency (CIA) of the Jalandhar (rural) police have arrested a drug peddler on the charge of selling opium.
Investigating officer (IO) Navdeep Singh said that 450 grams of contraband were recovered from the accused identified as Kuldeep Singh son of Basant Singh a resident of Fatowal village under Arif ke police station Feroze Pur.
A migrant drug peddler Kalash son of Parmeshwari a native of Badai Pur district in Uttar Pradesh told the police during interrogation that he had sold 500 grams of opium to Kuldeep Singh.
IO said the accused has been arrested in a case under section 18(B) 61/85 of the NDPS Act registered at Lohian Khas police station adding that both the accused were in the league in selling opium in different parts of the state.
