NAKODAR/SHAHKOT/NURMAHAL
Revenue officers of Nakodar, Shahkot subdivisions, and Nurmahal sub-tehsil remained on leave on Thursday to protest a secret list of 48 revenue officers sent to the government by the vigilance bureau terming these officers as tainted.

The Chief Director, of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau, had prepared a list of 48 tehsildars and naib-tehsildars along with a list of agents through whom they were receiving bribes and was sent to Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Janjua.

Due to the leave taken by tehsildars and naib tehsildars’ offices remained paralyzed. The tehsil complexes and sub tehsil complex wore a deserted look. People were having a tough time at registration offices.

Punjab Revenue Officers’ Association president Gurdev Singh Dham said it was an individual decision of Tehsildars and naib tehsildars to go on leave.

As per the list, Nakodar Tehsildar H.S.Hundal and Nurmahal naib tehsildar Anudeep Sharma are tainted officers.
