The Nakodar city police have booked a person on the charge of using cast remarks.
Station House Officer (SHO) Baljit Singh said that the accused has been identified as Desa Singh son of Diwan Singh a resident of Taran Tarn.
Balwinder Singh a resident of Malrri village complained to the police that the accused used caste remarks against him, and video graphed an act of using derogatory remarks and made it viral on social media.
SHO said a case under sections 3(1)-R of the Schedule Castes and Schedule Tribes Act 1989 has been registered against the accused after an inquiry and Deputy Superintendent of Police Harjinder Singh is conducting further investigation.
