The Mehat Pur police have arrested a villager on the charge of selling illicit liquor
The investigating officer (IO) Jaswinder Singh said 10 bottles of hooch and 60 KG lahann (raw liquor) were seized from the possession of the accused identified as Rashpal Singh a resident of Beetal Jhugian village.
IO said a case under section 61/1/14 of the Punjab Excise Act has been registered against the accused.
The police also arrested Surjit Singh a resident of Bau Pur village in Shahkot with 9 bottles of hooch said Davinder Singh.
