The Nurmahal police have arrested five drug peddlers on the charge of indulging in snatching and selling intoxicant capsules.
The Investigating Officer (IO) Manjit Singh said that 2000 intoxicant capsules were recovered from the possession of the accused identified as Sukhpreet Singh alias Sukha son of Pawitar Singh a resident of Uppal Khalsa village, Salwindar Singh alias Golu son of Jaspal Singh and Kirandeep Singh alias Kiran both residents of Kotla Jangan village under Nakodar Sadar police station. The accused told the police during the investigation that they sold snatched mobile phones to Rakesh Kumar alias Kesha son of Balwindar Kumar a resident of Billi Chaharmi village under Shahkot police station and Sukhvindar Singh Sunny son of Baldev of Malsian who has also been arrested
IO said a case under sections 22-C/61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused adding that. Rs 1500,12 mobile phones, one motorcycle, and sharp-edged weapons were recovered from them.
