The Lohian Khas police have booked fifteen persons on the charge of attempt to murder, criminal intimidation, and rioting.
The investigating officer (IO) Kashmir Singh said that the accused have been identified as Pawan, his brother Sukhdeep and Vishal residents of Badshah Pur village, and their twelve unidentified accomplices.
Pawandeep Singh a resident of Reharrwan village under Shahkot police station complained to the police that the accused attacked his friend Sukhdev Singh a resident of Badshah Pur village with sharp cadged weapons with the intention to kill and seriously injured him on June 9 and later barged into the house of his uncle Ujjagar Singh and assaulted him and threatened him with dire consequences.
IO said a case under sections 307(attempt to murder) and 324(voluntarily causing hurt with weapons), 506(criminal intimidation)341(wrongful restraint) and 148 and 149(rioting) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused. No arrest has been made and raids are being conducted to nab the absconding accused.
