The Nurmahal police have booked seven persons including a woman on charges of attempt to murder, criminal intimidation, and conspiracy.
The Investigating officer (IO) Daljit Singh said that the accused have been identified as Amrik Singh a resident of Hardo Sheikh village and his daughter Navjot Kaur Gurjit Singh, Rohit Gill,Rahul, and Kaka all residents of Mehat Pur town and Rohit a resident of Badshah Pur village under the Lohian Khas police station
Karanveer Singh a resident of Hardo Sheikh village complained to the police that the accused waylaid him on his way to Nurmahal and attacked him with sharp-edged weapons with the intention to kill him.
He said that his paternal uncle Amarki Singh and his daughter Navjot Kaur planned to attack him due to enmity.
IO said that a case under sections 307(attempt to murder) 341(wrongful restraint) 323,324325,326(voluntarily causing grievous hurt )506(criminal intimidation) and 120-B(criminal conspiracy) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
