The AAP government led by Bhagwant Singh Mann has taken a serious note of some cases of the physical abuse and exploitation of the women who went abroad or have come back or settled there, but were exploited by the immigration agents or anybody else on the pretest of getting them jobs there or helping them settle in offshore countries.
This information has been shared with the media by Dr Baljeet Kaur, the cabinet minister for social security, women and child development.
"The government is very serious about it and wants to bring in some policy so that such kinds of exploitation can be stopped at any stage, In Punjab or abroad.The agents mislead the women and eventually they fall prey to various kinds of exploitations. So the government has decided to form a policy in this regard. For this purpose, all the women who have had any kind of unpleasant experience or faced any kinds of exploitation are invited for open discussion so that their suggestions can be taken into account," said Dr Baljeet Kaur.
A meeting at the office of the deputy commissioner Jalandhar is going to be held under the cabinet minister Dr Baljeet Kaur on Monday, June 11, between 11 and 1 PM.
The minister has appealed to all the victims to be present in the state level meeting.
According to the media reports, even some women were left in the lurch abroad where they were sent by the agents and they had to face sexula exploitation as well.
