Ajaypal Singh Sandhu, a senior congress leader and halqa in charge of Kotkapura has been appointed the coordinator for the Lok Sabha Halka Faridkot by the party high command.
Sandhu, who belongs to a landlord family of Kotkapura town has also been the district president of the congress committee Faridkot and had unsuccessfully contested the assembly elections from Kotkapura.
Sandhu has been a close aide of former Faridkot MLA and political advisor to the chief minister captain Amarinder Singh, Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon.
"A delegation led by district congress committee president Navdeep Singh Babbu Brar visited Sandhu to congratulate him. He was accompanied by the Sarpanches and panches from the district besides Darshan Singh Dhilwan, Halka in charge of Jaitu(reserved),Amarjeet Singh Sukha Khara, block president of Kotkapura(rural),Jai Parkash Sharma, president block Kotkapura(urban) besides Bhupinder Singh Saggu, president of municipal committee Kotkapura," reads a press release by Sandhu.
"As a coordinator, I shall strive my best to deliver on all the fronts and we shall leave no stone unturned to win the approaching parliamentary elections. The AAP government led by Bhagwant Singh Mann has failed to deliver and keep its promises. It is going to make the state bankrupt by borrowing more," said Ajaypal Singh Sandhu.
Sandhu thanked the party high command for his appointment.
