Two villagers arrested for snatching smart phone from JK woman

 

NAKODAR

The Nakodar city police have arrested two villagers on the charge of snatching a smartphone from a Jammu and Kashmir (JK) woman.

The investigating officer (IO) Sarabjit Singh said that the accused have been identified as   Sandeep alias Gulu son of Nachhatar Singh and Gagan Dep alias Ganni son of Kailash Masih residents of Maalrri village.

Ramia Varma daughter of Sansar Chand a resident of ward no 3 near GHS Makwal under police station Kathua , J, and K  complained to the police that she came to pay her obeisance at Dera Murad Shah on May 5 and was returning to Jalandhari Pulli bus stop with her friend when two motorcycles (PB-33-B-6124) snatched smartphone from her hand near Radha Soami Sat Sangh Ghar .

IO said a case under sections 379-B (snatching) and 34 (committing the crime with common intention) and 411(dishonestly receiving stolen property of the IPC have been registered against the accused.

 

Increasing incidents of snatching in the city have created a sense of insecurity among residents and put a question mark on police patrolling and functioning.
