Harpal Singh Cheema, cabinet minsiter for Finance, Planning,Programme implementation and excise and taxation onMonday evening demanded public apology from Leader of Opposition Punjab Partap Singh Bajwa for his remarks allegedly belittling the Dalit community.

“I demand from Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Ji and congress president Malikrajun Kharge and warn them to expel Bajwa from the party because of his attitude towards the Dalit community. I also demand from Bajwa that he must seek public apology from the Dalit community besides individually from our MLA Labh Singh Ugo Ke. After one week, we shall take legal action against him. We are seeking the legal opinion about it,’ said Cheema addressing a press conference today.

He was also accompanied by Bhadur MLA Labh Singh Ugo Ke.

“If Bajwa Sahib spoken against me only, I would not have minded it because he a senior leader. But he has insulted our community by saying that what kind of people are sitting in Vidhan Sabha , who have come from small houses. His mind is full of anger against us and I object to his thought about the Dalit community,” said Labh Singh Ugoke.

It is pertinent to mention that Bajwa had used unparliamentary language(in his own language) against the chief minister Punjab by calling him  Bhand(satirist) and mentioned about Labh Singh Ugoke saying that a youth from mobile repair shop has come to the assembly during his address to the solidarity with the editor in chief of a vernacular daily.
