The Nurmahal police have booked unidentified persons on the charge of stealing jewellery and a scooter from a house.
Dharam Veer a resident of Dalla village complained to the police that thieves barged into his house on May 2 night and stole golden jewellery(one ring and a gold chain) and a scooter (PB08-DC-5368) as he was out to see his relatives.
The investigating officer Amrik Singh said that a case under section 457(house trespass) 380(theft in dwelling house) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the unidentified accused.
Incidents of thefts in rural areas have created a sense of insecurity among residents and put a question mark on police patrolling and functioning.
