The Lohian Khas police on Saturday claimed to have busted a gang of robbers with the arrest of its two members. Arms, sharp-edged weapons. fake currency notes and a motorcycle were recovered from their possession.
The Station House Officer (SHO) Yadwindar Singh said that the accused had been identified as Jora Singh alias Jora son of Jagdish Singh a resident of Chak Pipply village and Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi son of Rulia Singh a resident of Pipply village.
SHO said a country-made pistol,315 bore,2 live cartridges of 315 born, one toy pistol, Rs 40000 fake currency notes in the denomination of Rs 2000, and one motorcycle was recovered from the possession of the accused.
SHO said the accused are notorious criminals and 11 cases are pending against both in different police stations.
SHO said that a case under section 489-C (possession of forged or counterfeit currency notes or bank notes). of the IPC and sections 25/54/59 of the Aram Act have been registered against the accused.
