The Nurmahal police have booked six robbers including a Cheema Khurad village resident on the charges of looting jewelry and cash from a Nurmahal resident at the point of a pistol.
The Station House Officer (SHO) Sukhdev Singh said that the accused has been identified as Ajay Kumar son of Major Ram a resident of Cheema Khurd and his five unidentified accomplices.
Sashi Bhushan son of Ramesh Chandar a resident of Mohalla Passian Nurmahal complained to the police that the accused barged into his house on Monday afternoon captured his father tied him in a corner and looted Rs 5 Lakhs and Jewellery, a smartphone of his father at the point of a pistol and fled away.
He said that the accused Ajay Kumar is working at his shop, and he can recognize other accused if brought in his front
SHO said that a case under sections 458(lurking house-trespass) 342(wrongful restraint) and 392(punishment for robbery.) of the IPC and sections 25 /54/59 of the Arms Act has been registered against registered the accused and his unidentified accomplices accused and further investigation is on.
This act of daylight robbery has created a sense of insecurity among residents and put a question mark on police functioning.
