The Nakodar City police arrested a local woman on the charge of staging a dharna in front of the Nakodar City police station on April 20.2019
The Investigating officer (IO)Bhajan Singh said that the accused has been identified as Jyoti Arora daughter of Satpal a resident of Arjan Nagar Nakodar accomplices’.
IO said that Gurpreet Singh son of Paramjit Singh a resident of Gill village had complained to the Nakodar sub-divisional magistrate and assistant returning officer of the Nakodar segment of the Jalandhar parliamentary constituency that the dharna against the police station on April 20, 2019, was against code of conduct and action should be taken against all who violated it.
IO said that SDM sent this complaint to DSP Nakodar for further action and sought a compliance report by April 24.
Bhajan Singh said assistant deputy superintendent of Police Nakodar Vatsala Gupta had directed SHO to act on a complaint received from SDM.
IO said that the accused by staging a dharna in front of the police station on April 20, 2019, violated the order issued by the Jalandhar deputy commissioner and created problems for ordinary people in commuting and thus harassed them.
He said a case under section 188(disobedience to order duly promulgated by public authority) was registered against the accused and others and she was released on bail as the offense is bailable.
