Travel agent booked for duping Jalandhar  village    resident    of Rs 23 Lakhs

 The Lohian Khas police have booked a travel agent for allegedly duping a Jalandhar village resident of Rs.23 lakhs on the pretext of sending his nephew abroad.

Jalandhar (HQ) Deputy Superintendent of Police and the investigating officer (IO) Harjit Singh said that the accused has been identified as Doctor Gurpreet Singh son of Jugraj Singh a resident of Fateh Pur Bhangwan village.

IO said that Satanam Singh a resident of Bhatijab Randhawa village under Maqsudan police station complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP) that he paid Rs 23   to the accused for facilitating his nephew’s migration abroad but he was not sent abroad not returned the money.

 

 IO said that a case under sections 406 (breach of trust), 420 (cheating)of the IPC, and section 13 of the Punjab Travel Profession Regulation Act has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
