The Nurmahal police have booked a salesman of a cooperative society on a charge of criminal breach of trust by a public servant.
Station house officer (SHO)Sukhdev Singh said that the accused has been identified as Mandeep son of Mukhtar Masih working as a salesman at Sanghe Khalsa Cooperative agricultural multi-purpose society and a resident of Pandori Jagir village.
Assistant registrar cooperative societies Phillaur complained to the Jalandhar (Rural) senior superintendent of police that the accused embezzled society’s funds worth Rs 19,14600.05 4Lakhs.
SHO said that a case under section 408(criminal breach of trust by clerk or servant) of the IPC has been registered against the accused after an inquiry and further investigation is on.
