The Mehat Pur police have booked unidentified criminals on the charge of murdering a Mehat Pur village resident.
The Investigating officer (IO) Jatinder Singh said that the deceased has been identified as Sukhwindar Singh son of Surat Singh a resident of Salema village.
Gurbaj Singh brother of the deceased, complained to the police that his brother went to Pandori village on May 23 for work but did not return home.
He said that Kuljit Singh a resident of Salema village phoned him late at night and told him that his brother is lying injured on a roadside.
Gurbaj Singh said he along with his nephew reached the spot a found Sukhwinder Singh lying unconscious on Mandiala -Salema link road and rushed him to a Nakodar hospital where the doctors declared him as brought dear.
He said that the unidentified accused killed his brother.
IO said a case under sections 302(murder) and 34(committing the crime with the common intention) of the IPC has been registered against unidentified criminals.
