The Sadar police Faridkot have registered a case against five persons including the wife of the victim on the complaint of Malkeet Singh son of Raj Singh, a resident of village Dhudhi of Faridkot district.
Malkeet Singh, the father of the deceased youth has stated to the police that his son was married to Prabhjot Kaur about 8 years ago, but Prabhjot Kaur was a quarrelsome nature of woman and she often had dispute/fights with his husband and would leave his house to visit her paternal village Moga.
He has further alleged that the parents and siblings of the woman support her all for wrong reasons.
"I was sleeping in the same portion on the ground floor while my son was sleeping in the above portion. Suddenly, sensing some problem, we rushed upstairs and saw that my son was vomiting. We first rushed her to the local hospital and then to Guru Gobind Singh medical college Faridkot where he died of consuming some poisonous substance," alleged Malkeet Singh.
Singh alleged that his son took that extreme step because his wife and in-laws harassed her too much and he was forced to end his life.
The police have booked Prabhjot Kaur(wife),Hakumat Rai and Kamlesh Rani(father-mother in laws),their son Laddu and another person Raghu, a resident of Moga under section 306(abetment to suicide) on the complaint of Malkeet Singh.
