Five including two women booked for insulting religious feelings.

 

SHAHKOT

The Shahkot police have booked five persons including two women on the charges of insulting religious feelings house trespass, theft, criminal intimidation and voluntarily causing hurt.

Investigating officer (IO) Salinder Singh said that the accused have been identified as Kalu alias Vishal’s son of Tari a resident of Mulle Wal village, his mother Ranno, his brother Aman and, Bhinda son of Neela and Sandeep wife of Manni resident of Mulle Wal village.

Kuldeep Singh member of panchayat Mulle Wal village complained to the police that the accused waylaid him on July 16, assaulted him, pulled his beard, removed his turban, and threatened him.

He said Kalu has barged into his house on July 14 with the intention to steal and he has lodged a complaint against him, and the accused attacked him in revenge.

 

IO said a case under section 295-A (insulting religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs),323(voluntarily causing hurt) 341(wrongful restraint)380(theft in dwelling house) 506(criminal intimidation) 148 and 149(rioting) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused. No arrests have been made and raids are being conducted to nab the absconding accused.
