The Mehat Pur police have arrested a Nurmahal village bus driver on charges of causing death by negligence, rash driving on public road and mischief.
Investigating officer (IO) Harkirat Singh said the accused has been identified as Harjot Singh son of Surjit Singh a resident of Rame Wal village under Nurmahal police station.
Baljindar Singh a resident of Sher Pur Tyba village in Moga had complained to the police that the accused was driving his bus negligently and fast and hit motorcyclist Sandip resulting in his death.
IO said a case under sections 106-A (causing death by negligence), 281 (rash driving on public roads) and 324(4) (mischief) of the BNS was registered against the accused.
