Couple among four travel agents booked for cheating on court order

 

NURMAHAL

The Bilga police have booked four travel agents including a couple on the order of a court for duping a Bilga village resident of Rs.15 lakhs on the pretext of sending him abroad.

The Investigating officer (IO) Ashwani Kumar said that the accused have been identified as Ashok Kumar son of Lachmann Ram a resident of Dara Pur village under Bilga police station, his wife Sandip Kaur and Jagdish Lal son of Karam Chand a resident of Kailash Nagar Ludhiana and his son Raman Kumar.

IO said that the case has been registered on the order of the Judicial Magistrate First Class , Phillaur.

Sarabjit alias Sarabjit Nigah a resident of Dara Pur village has submitted in the court that he paid Rs15  Lakhs to the accused for facilitating his migration abroad but the accused did not send him abroad and not returned the money.

 

 IO said that a case under section 406 (breach of trust). 419(cheating by personation)  420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code have been registered against the accused .
