Nurmahal area residents on Thursday expressed their gratitude to the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for transferring land to the police department to complete the building of the Nurmahal police station.
Nakodar MLA Inderjit Kaur Maan informed the Punjab tribune .com that she asked the Jalandhar deputy commissioner to sanction the mutation of land in favour of the police department as the Punjab chief minister has issued directions to complete the incomplete building of Nurmahal police station.
The Punjab chief minister’s office (CMO) has directed the principal secretary of home affairs (PSHA)and financial commissioner revenue (FCR)o act to complete the building of the Nurmahal police station in the month of May.
Secretary in the Chief Minister’s office in an email message to the PSHA and FCR said that Dilbag Singh‘s representation sent to the chief minister on May 27, 2022, is sent to you in original for immediate necessary action as per government rules/policy.
Dilbag Singh, social activist, and a resident of Baina Pur village in a reminder representation to the chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had said that in the year 2005 police station Nurmahal was in a private building. People of the town took initiative and donated six kanals 18 marlas land belonging to Patti of the town and spent Rs. 25.00 lakhs for the construction of the building for police station Nurmahal.
However, government authorities took no further action to complete the building.
The 6 kanals and 14 marlas land stand mutated in the name of common owners.
Dilbag Singh said that the possession of the land has been changed from gair mumkin pond and recorded on the name of the police station and the local Nagar council has passed a resolution for a no objection certificate to transfer land to the police department.
