Mann Govt treating law & order like Comedy Show: BJP

Reacting sharply to the statement of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann that law and order situation has improved in state under the AAP government; Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill has slammed Mann for his blatant lie. In a statement issued today, Shergill said that it was shameful that despite numerous incidents of crime reported in Punjab ever since AAP government came to power, Mann is making false claims.
In a scathing attack on Chief Minister, Shergill said, “It is really shocking that despite the high profile murder of singer Sidhu Moose Wala, ransom killing of a 20-year-old youth Harmandeep Singh hailing from Punjab's Muktsar district, killings of famous Kabbadi players (Sandeep Singh “Nangal Ambiyan” and Dharminder Singh), rape of a 11-year-old girl in a moving car in Patiala, murder of anti-drug activist Ram Gopal in Jalandhar, death of Police constable Mandeep Singh in a shoot out in Nakodar (Jalandhar), two separate RPG attacks on the police establishments, besides several other incidents of crime, Mann has the audacity to claim that law and order in Punjab has improved.”
Squarely blaming the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for his “abject failure” to maintain law and order in the border state of Punjab, Shergill deteriorating law and order in the state makes it amply clear that Punjab and Punjabis are not at all safe under the AAP government. Expressing serious concern over the lawlessness prevailing in the state, BJP Spokesperson said that law and order machinery in the state has collapsed. “It is sheer incompetence on the part of Mann, who also holds the Home Affairs portfolio to ensure the safeguard of life and property of people of the Punjab”, he said in a hard hitting attack on the AAP Government.
Shergill also said that it is extremely unfortunate that even after eight and half months, Sidhu Moose Wala’s father is pleading for justice but the government has failed to nab the main accused in the murder case. While asserting that AAP government has no moral right to continue in power, Shergill said that it is extremely “worrisome” that within just eleven months of AAP rule, the law and order in Punjab has deteriorated to such an alarming extent that state is witnessing frequent murders, while adding that Mann must not forget that first 21 days of AAP rule had witnessed 19 murders in the state. “There seems to be no law of land but ‘jungle raj’ and ‘anarchy’ that is prevailing in the state under the AAP regime”, he said.
Taking a dig at Mann, the Shergill said, “Recently, the security of the CM's wife has been enhanced. As per media reports, now as many as 40 police personnel would now accompany CM’s wife during visits to districts in the state, which completely belies Mann’s claim that law and order situation in Punjab is completely under control.” Further, taking a dig at CM, the BJP leader said, “Mann Sahib - this was not the Badlaav Punjab wanted. Under the AAP regime, gangsters/criminals are having a free run and instead of taking stock of the deteriorating law and order situation, you are busy pleasing “Delhi Durbar” by exploiting the state resources in order to fulfill the political ambitions of your Boss Arvind Kejriwal.”
Categorically stating that peace of Punjab is under threat under the AAP rule, Shergill said that the foremost priority of the state government should be to maintain law and order and instill a sense of security among the people of Punjab.
