Villager  detained for firing on  Lohian Khas police.

The Lohian Khas police have detained a villager on the charge of faring on the Lohian Khas police.

The Station House Officer (SHO) Surijit Singh Padda said that the accused has been identified as Lovpreet Singh alias Labha son of Jiwan Singh a resident of Ismail Pur village.

SHO said in his statement that he was on patrolling duty near River Sutlej Bandh area of Fateh Pur Bhangwan village and signaled a dubious man to stop coming from the river area side.

 SHO said that the accused started firing from a pistol and targeted him, but he saved himself by sitting and falling and was slightly injured.

He said his driver senior constable Dildar Singh came forward to save him, but the accused opened fire at him with the intention to kill who saved himself by sitting but sustained minor injuries.

SHO said after firing the accused tried to flee from the spot but he fired at him from his service revolver targeting his lower legs and a gunshot hit his left ankle the accused sat on the ground and was detained and admitted to Jalandhar civil hospital.    

 

SHO said a case under section 307(attempt to murder) 353(assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty.)  of the IPC and sections 25/54/59-A of the Arms Act against the accused and recovered two pistols 15 cartridges from his possession and two empty cartridges from the spot
