The Shahkot police have booked a person on the charges of breach of trust and cheating.
The investigating officer (IO)and in-charge Malsian police post-Nirmal Singh said that the accused has been identified as Gurpal Singh son of Najar Singh a resident of Shahla Nagar,Malsian village
Pawan Kumar a resident of Har Krishan Nagar, Phagwara complained to the Jalandhar (rural) superintendent of police that the accused signed an agreement with him to sell his 13 Kanals ,01 marlas land situated on Malsian -Kanganna Road and received an amount of Rs 25 lakhs from him as advance money but did not register a sale deed and fled away to the US and thus cheated him.
IO said a case under section 406(breach of trust) and 420(cheating) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
